Bisociation Networks for Creative Information Discovery

The commencement of the BISON project was officialy marked by the kick-off meeting held in Konstanz, Germany between the 5th and the 8th of June 2008. 27 Participants from 6 European countries were attending the meeting in the small town of Litzelstetten close to the University of Konstanz and the Bodensee.

The partners each presented their view on the concepts and challenges of bisociative networking and worked towards creating a common ground for an integrated, creative data mining solution that represents BISON. The meeting also marked the formation of a group of young researchers called “Junior Bisons”. The PhD students and post-docs in this group will focus on practical applications and implementations of bisociative discovery methodologies.

The next meeting will be held in Northern Ireland and hosted by the University of Ulster.
